Overview

The Causal Cognition Lab, an academic research team at Central European University in Vienna, required a logo that represented their emphasis on human cognition and causality. The objective was to design a straightforward, professional logo that effectively communicates the ideas of causality and cognition, while also being adaptable for various platforms.

 

Design Process

Research: Analyzed the lab’s focus and academic context to understand their core values.

 

​​Concept Development: I explored visuals that represented connection, thought, and logic, aiming for a minimalistic yet meaningful design to appeal to their scientific audience. Interconnected circle shapes were utilized to symbolize causality and brain activity, depicting a ball moving and striking the letter C, causing a shift in its position.

​Final Design: The logo was designed based on the given concept and is showcased on the university's website, entrance door, posters, etc.
