BCCCD 2025

Client: Budapest Central European University Conference on Cognitive Development (BCCCD)
Project: Program and Abstracts Booklet Cover Design

Overview

After successfully designing the Abstracts booklet cover for the 14th annual BCCCD Program in 2024, I was invited to create the cover for the 15th annual conference in 2025. The brief remained consistent with the previous year, aiming to reflect themes of cognitive development and Budapest’s cultural identity.

Design Process

Research: I investigated the conference’s focus on cognitive development in infants and its emphasis on growth and progression in human cognition. Additionally, I explored Budapest’s cultural heritage to find elements that could tie the design to its location.

Concept Development: The 2025 design drew inspiration from St. Stephen's Basilica in Budapest, incorporating its architectural features with minimal brain elements integrated into the dome to symbolize cognitive growth. Playful, childish shapes and sharp, vibrant colors were used to reflect themes of early childhood development.

Final Design: The completed design integrated these elements to create a booklet cover that aligned with the conference’s themes while maintaining a connection to Budapest’s cultural identity. The project was featured at the 15th annual BCCCD conference in 2025.
