Design Process
I developed three initial sketch concepts exploring different ways to visualize the idea of a toddler solving a puzzle. After one direction was selected, I refined the illustration, color palette, and composition to develop the final cover design.

The Challenge
For the 16th annual BCCCD conference in 2026, I was invited once again to design the Program and Abstracts Booklet cover.
The goal was to visually represent early cognitive development, with a focus on learning, problem-solving, and mental growth, while remaining accessible and engaging for an academic audience.
Concept & Idea
The concept centers on a toddler assembling a puzzle as a visual metaphor for cognitive development.
The puzzle represents how children gradually build understanding through exploration and problem-solving. The image reflects learning as an active and playful process, closely aligned with the conference’s focus on early childhood cognition.

Selected Direction
Concept 3 was selected for further development.

Outcome
The final design was used as the official Program and Abstracts Booklet cover for the 16th Annual BCCCD Conference (2026).
